Please note that the event format is changing as gathering limits will not allow us to hold the normal kid's event at the NIA Starkweather House.

Join us for a unique Holiday Kids Event. Stop in at the NIA on Sunday December 6th from 2pm-4pm to pick up complimentary Holiday Craft 2-Go-Kits (2-3 crafts) & some special treats for your children. If the weather is nice we will have an outdoor area set up so that children can write a letter to Santa. If the weather is poor, they will have a blank letter to take home and drop-off at a later date to have it shipped to the North Pole.

COVID GUIDLEINES: We will follow all in-place protocols includng facemasks, hand sanitizing, indoor limits of 10 people and at least 6ft of spacing per group.

Join the traditional “Christmas Fires” display and light the luminaria at dusk on Christmas Eve. The “Christmas Fires” are something to behold and are a long standing Nichols Tradition. The luminaries are votive candles placed in sand on the bottom of paper bags and can be placed on walkways, driveways and porches. This familiar glow is a part of Christmas for Nichols and people come from near and far to witness the special warmth of these traditional lights.
