We have important news regarding the Nichols Farmers Market.

Several months ago, the Town of Trumbull approached the NIA about starting their own Trumbull Farmers Market. After careful consideration by the NIA Executive Board, we have decided to partner and transfer the Nichols Farmers Market to the Town of Trumbull.

We understand the significance of this tradition to our friends and neighbors, and it is with mixed feelings that we share this news. The decision was made based on several factors:

- The Town planned to proceed with its market regardless of our decision, aiming to merge our market with theirs.

- Running two separate markets in Trumbull would create scheduling conflicts for our vendors.

- The Town possesses a well-resourced infrastructure and a larger volunteer base, addressing our struggle to source volunteers each week.

- Combining events eliminates competition for vendors, resources, and attendees, ensuring both Nichols and the greater Trumbull community continue to benefit.

The Nichols Farmers Market, founded by dedicated Nichols residents, has been a cherished community event for many years. We extend our gratitude to those who dedicated their time to its success. Merging with the Town's Market ensures Nichols residents can still enjoy a weekly Farmers Market with family and friends.

The Trumbull Farmers Market will be held on Thursdays at Twin Brooks Park starting in the Spring of 2024. Further details can be found on the town’s Facebook page and website: www.trumbull-ct.gov .

Thank you to everyone who supported the Nichols Farmers Market. We appreciate your contributions in creating this dynamic feature of our community, and we look forward to its continued success in our town.

Regards,

Bryce Bollert
