CHECK-IN / BIB & SHIRT PICKUP
Registration is at the Nichols United Methodist Church on Friday from 3:30-8:30pm and Saturday starting at 7:30am. YES you can pick up for other people - but please be careful not to mix up the bibs. They are labeled to ensure they get to the right person.
Walk-in registration is also available at these times - Let friends & family know we still have room and a limited supply of shirts available. Please bring cash or check.
NOTE: The 5k run bibs have computer chips on the back that cannot be removed. Please do not use another bib nor give one away - this will affect our results & cause a possible delay for emergency services. If you have a question or problem regarding your bib/registration ask for Marty Schaivone or our Timer Mike Bonnar.
All pre-registered 5K runners & Walkers will get a shirt. If you registered on or before November 18th, you are guaranteed the size you selected at check-out. For those that registered after the 18th, we will do our best to get you the size you selected at check-out. Jingle Bell Jr. Runners will get a race bib & race certificate.
NOTE: If available, extra shirts can be purchased for $10
In 2017 we made changes to our historic course that we believe improved the experience & safety. Those changes are back for 2018. First- the start is now on Shelton Rd just 50 yards from the finish. This will be much safer than in the past when police had to stop traffic and temporarily close Huntington Tpke. Second- the first of the steep hills (Primrose Dr.) has been eliminated with a slight cut thru tweak. We know you're saying, "Oh no you took away a hill?" Rest assured the course is still fun and you'll love the classic downhill finish that makes our run so memorable.
5K Route - NEW START on Shelton Rd at the NUMC driveway, down Shelton Rd, Right on Huntington Tpke, Right on Teeter Rock, Right on Turkey Meadow, Right on Golden Hill, Right on Shelton Ave, one mile to the finish back at the church. https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=7313802
Walk Route - NEW START on Shelton Rd at the NUMC driveway, down Shelton Rd, Right on Huntington Tpke, Right on Erwin, Right on Shelton Ave, finish back at the church. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=7313804 Walkers can also walk 2miles (right on North) or walk the 5K (right on Teeter Rock).
Trumbull Police will be on duty for your safety but roads are open. Please watch for traffic and stay to the right of the roads on this course while running/walking.
If you plan on bringing a stroller or pet, we ask that you stay towards the back of the pack and be mindful of those around you.
JINGLE BELL JUNIOR
Once again we are happy to offer our FREE kids race - The Jingle Bell Junior - 1/3 Mile Fire to the Finish. This race is perfect for 5th graders and younger ... although we wont check IDs.
Here's what you need to do:
1) Check-in at the Walk-In registration table on Friday or Saturday morning.
2) Grab a commemorative Race Bib.
3) Meet at the finish line @ 9:05am.
The children will walk up to the firehouse as a group.
4) Get those cameras ready!
This year we are also using the event to support the efforts of many local community groups:
TRUMBULL HELPS FOOD DRIVE - Community based volunteer group Trumbull Helps will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Trumbull Food Pantry. Thanks for your support by bringing food donations to Friday's JBR Bib Pick-up or on Saturday from 7:30 - 11am. They will also be taking pre-orders of their delicious Cinnamon Bread. $8 per loaf.
TRUMBULL INDOOR TRACK FUND RAISER - The THS Indoor Track Team will be handing out candy canes and baked goods for after the race. We simply ask you to support them with a monetary donation to support our team.
NICHOLS GARDEN GLUB HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE - Be sure to stop in at the NIAs Starkweather House on Friday & Saturday for the Nichols Garden Club’s Annual Holiday Boutique! They will be selling a variety of holiday pieces including swag, wreaths, mailbox covers & centerpieces.

Although there is plenty of parking in and around race headquarters we ask that you carpool. Per Trumbull PD, please do not park on the grass along Huntington Turnpike (YOU WILL GET TOWED)
Lot 1 & 2 - Nichols Improvement Association main lot & field. Volunteers will assist with parking and safety.
Lot 3 - Behind Trinity Episcopal Church/Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Library on Huntington Turnpike
Lot 4 - Next to the NIAs Ballfields on Unity Road
NOTE: Parking behind NUMC on Center Rd. is reserved for race sponsors & our volunteer crew.
