Where do the proceeds go?
For the 2022 Restaurant Gift Card Extravaganza, proceeds will primarily go to the updating and upgrading of 5 Pennies Park - our community playground.
Do I need to be present to win?
No. In fact you pretty much can't be. The drawing will be live-streamed on January 1st, 2023 at 1 p.m. A link to the live stream will be posted on our website. If you win, we will contact you and arrange to award prizes. Your digital receipt IS confirmation of your online ticket purchase. Physical tickets will be mailed within 1 week of purchase.
How many entries will be sold?
2,500 tickets will be available. That's it. If we don't sell them all, your odds of winning will be higher.
The odds of winning one of the 10 prizes are 250 to 1. But your chances of helping the community are 100%.
Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?
Even though the money raised is going to a great cause, no, you can't deduct the purchase of raffle tickets.
Almost. Members and spouses of the Raffle Committee are not eligible to win. Also, you must be 18 and older to participate.
Are restaurant gift cards transferable?
Yes. These are regular gift cards. You can give them to whomever you like.
What happens if I don't use a gift card and the restaurant goes out of business?
Unfortunately, the Nichols Improvement Association is not responsible for unused cards to restaurants that close business AFTER the drawing on January 1, 2023. If a restaurant closes BEFORE the drawing is held, we will substitute another card to give to the winner.
The drawing will be overseen by NIA Raffle Committee. The raffle has been registered with the Town of Trumbull Police department.
Has a raffle permit been obtained to conduct the raffle?
Yes, we have received Raffle Permit # 2022-0013-R issued by the Town of Trumbull Police Department authorizing the NIA to conduct this raffle. The permit can be viewed HERE
